Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year and Happy Ethiopian Christmas! መልካም : ገና!

As I reflect back on 2021, I am so thankful to God in more ways than one. The year was difficult and challenging for us (and I’m sure for many of you), particularly because my family moved this year. God was faithful in keeping His promise (Joshua 1:9) and in blessing us in so many ways during our 20 years of living in Kentucky. So, it was with a mixture of sadness at leaving behind dear friends as we moved to Northern Virginia to be closer to family.

God willing, Zewdu and I plan to travel to Ethiopia at the end of January to visit our beloved homeland. Like so many Ethiopians returning at this time, we are also hoping to do our part to help rebuild our country after a devastating civil war and the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I want to ask you to please consider contributing to Rebuilding A Nation, to help restore the school buildings that have been damaged, to buy desks and chairs, as well as to purchase school supplies so children can return to school. Your contribution will be tax deductible and I assure you that all of your contribution will be used to help the lives of so many children whose lives were disrupted by war and the pandemic.

May all your wishes come true in the coming year! Stay healthy and blessed.

Thanks,

Makeda
